Sisterhood Musings

ISTE11 was an amazing experience. Imagine over 13,000 attendees and 3,500 vendors coming together for a week. The sisters were able to post a few pictures for the site. Unfortunately, it was hard to balance attending the amazing sessions and catch people to take pictures! Keep looking for new "members of the family" to join the Sisterhood of the Traveling Macs!

I had the most wonderful experience this weekend!  It was a Lock-in, much like the lock-ins I went to as a youth.  A bunch of genius educators got together at a hotel in Wichita and using our unique experiences we created eBooks.  This lock-in was an idea that came to me back in October when I was at a workshop and was getting frustrated because I was learning about all kinds of great tools but I never had time to learn them and put them to use.  This particular lock-in focused on creating eBooks using what ever technology we had available and the web site epubbud.com.   We started the evening talking about what we hoped to get out of the workshop and then got busy working.  Some people paired up because they were working on something similar and some people invited peers to join them as they did some problem solving.  It was an inspirational, sometimes frustrating, evening that ended with the discovery of wonderful new friendships.  I'd love to tell you more about the lock-in....
